About Radnor Ice Hockey
Our High School teams are made up of Radnor High School students. The governing body of the high school teams is the ICSHL - Inter County Scholastic Hockey League.
Our Middle School team is for any resident in Radnor Township of middle school age - grades 5 through 8. This team is for both boys and girls living in Radnor Township. Players on this team attend Radnor Middle School and many other private or parochial schools. Students living in neighboring districts without a hockey team may join us at the middle school level.
At our Elementary level, we are encouraged by the number of players that have come into the club. Our Elementary team - grades 1 through 4 - will play under the Radnor Ice Hockey Club in the elementary league of the Iceline Elementary League at Iceline of West Chester. This team is open to all Radnor residents - both boys and girls - at the elementary ages who attend any school. Students living in neighboring districts without the availability to play at the elementary level may join us.
The Radnor Ice Hockey Club was founded in 1969 by long-time Radnor resident, Sam Miller. Sam's son wanted to play ice hockey but a school team didn't exist. Sam found a way to pull a team together and sponsored them anyway he could, finding practice ice, equipment and whatever else was needed to get the school team going - even having a hockey supply/service store on North Aberdeen Avenue in Wayne called "The Penalty Box". Sam remained dedicated to the club long after his son graduated high school and until his death in 2008. Our club is forever grateful for his vision, dedication, perseverance and generosity.
